I just travelled to Fukui for my first Business History conference in Japan. Japanese Business History Society is the oldest and the biggest in the world and the level of presentations was really high (as expected). I am one of three foreign participants and there seems to be problem with attracting young researcher to the field - I don't understand why since business history seems to be very popular with our students and has enormous both research and practical potential...
